Our Approach

Our Community-Centered Model

At the Horn of Africa Youth Network (HoAYN), our approach is rooted in collaboration, evidence-based advocacy, and youth empowerment. We believe that sustainable change happens when young people are meaningfully engaged in shaping the policies and systems that affect their lives. Our programs and initiatives are designed to strengthen the capacity of youth-led organizations, promote civic participation, and foster partnerships that advance peace, equality, and social justice across the region.

We work through a regional network model that connects youth organizations from ten countries in East and the Horn of Africa, creating a shared platform for dialogue, learning, and action. By integrating research, capacity development, and policy engagement, HoAYN bridges the gap between grassroots realities and regional decision-making. Our approach ensures that youth voices are heard, respected, and reflected in governance, peacebuilding, migration, climate action, and economic development agendas.
